2026 Recipient: Maria Thielen
At just 23, while completing a demanding graduate degree in occupational therapy, Maria Thielen made a life-changing commitment: she became the full-time guardian of a six-year-old girl with special needs. Despite balancing the relentless demands of caregiving, graduate school, and everyday life, Maria continues to excel—maintaining an impressive 3.7 GPA.
